Visual Art Exhibition
The exhibition will include the findings as well as the artistic, scientific and technological creations of 9 artists from Singapore, Germany and France. Ranging from DIY street scanning to exploring invisible signals and energy fields, the 16 artworks on display are accompanied by their DIY tools, documentation and contextualization of their data collecting process. It will also include videos that provide information on the artists’ processes and provide visual guides to their approaches.
Forum
Comprising of 2 different forum tracks, this section of the programme intends for the exhibition to be contextualized by a panel discussion, with a particular interest on how design technology and art can contribute to the development and building of future cities. The Discovery Track includes artists talks and youth dialogues designed for students specialising in art, design, architecture, technology and engineering at a secondary and tertiary education level. The Development Track includes artist talks and dialogue, based on the topic “How to engage citizens to be involved in the development of future and smart cities?” It is designed for students in higher education, and artists and professionals in the field or art, design, architecture, technology and engineering.

Workshops
As the Urban Exploration project values audience engagement and participation as an important extension of the exhibition, workshops will be held in conjunction to the exhibition. In these workshops, interested participants can expect to be involved on a practical level and to take the opportunity to experience some of the data collecting tools and use them to gather data and translating them into images. Andreas Schlegel of the Media Lab at LASALLE College of the Arts as well as other artists will be conducting the workshops. It aims to empower the individual to develop, craft, and realize custom-built prototypes for artistic expressions. In these workshops, the artists hope to shed light on the processes of the works and how one can use technology to understand the future and to interpret the spaces we live in through different perspectives and lenses.
